From Baltimore Police Department (BPD) Southern District Major Ian Dombroski:
On Friday 4/10, Saturday 4/11, and Monday 4/13, sector four experienced a rash of armed robberies. Two occurred on William Street and one on Randal. On Monday 4/20, three more robberies occurred in the same area (Olive Street, Heath Street and Fort Ave). The description of the robbers was the same for each.
Just before midnight on Monday, Officers Swayze and Bongiorno spotted the robbers and vehicle they were using. They ran from officers on foot and were soon captured. The gun they used was recovered, as was stolen property and the vehicle they were driving. The vehicle they used on Monday 4/20 was a Mercedes reported stolen in a carjacking in Washington DC several days earlier. Both men are charged with numerous robbery and handgun related counts and will be charged with carjacking and two additional robberies in Washington DC.
Detectives are continuing to investigate open robbery cases in Baltimore City and other jurisdictions in the region to include Washington DC.
The suspects are a 34-year-old African American male (last known address was in Essex) and a 44-year-old African American male (last known address was in Cherry Hill).
